How to Deter Mole Crickets Naturally

B-Defence organic fertiliser can be used as part of a natural soil management programme against mole crickets. Its plant-based composition and high organic nitrogen content help create conditions that are less favourable for soil-dwelling pests.

When mixed with moist soil, the plant material gradually decomposes and releases naturally occurring volatile compounds. This process supports soil biofumigation, helping discourage mole crickets, wireworms, grubs and other underground pests from remaining in the treated area.

How to Use B-Defence Organic Nitrogen Fertiliser

B-Defence soil treatment can be used in open-field cultivation as well as under cover in greenhouses and polytunnels. The pellet form makes dosage easy and allows the fertiliser to release gradually.

Apply at a rate of 40–50 g/m² before sowing or planting and during the growing season. Where possible, mix the fertiliser into the soil to a depth of approximately 10–15 cm, then water lightly.

Moist soil supports the natural biofumigation process. Volatile compounds released during the decomposition of the plant material help deter soil pests without harming cultivated plants or beneficial pollinating insects when the product is used as directed.
