How Can You Tell If Chickens Have Red Poultry Mites?

• Laying hens become restless, especially during the night.
• Birds scratch more frequently and may develop pale combs, which can indicate anaemia.
• Egg production may decrease, sometimes by 10–20%.
• Small red or grey spots may appear on eggs, perches and in cracks or crevices inside the chicken coop.

What Is the Red Poultry Mite?

Red poultry mite (Dermanyssus gallinae) is a blood-feeding external parasite that attacks birds mainly at night while hiding in cracks, joints and dark corners during the day. Infestations are encouraged by:

• warm and humid environmental conditions,
• introducing new birds into the flock,
• dust, old bedding and numerous hiding places inside the poultry house.

Directions for Use

One 4 kg package of Zdrowe Stado is sufficient for up to 100 kg of feed.

• Young birds (up to 4 weeks): 10–30 g daily per 10 birds.
• Poultry over 4 weeks of age: 30–60 g daily per 10 birds.
• Suitable for daily use as part of a regular feeding programme to help maintain flock health.
