How to Install the Solar Electric Fence Kit – Step-by-Step Guide

1. Choose the correct panel location: select an area that receives direct sunlight for most of the day and is not shaded by trees, buildings or other obstacles. In the Northern Hemisphere, the panel should generally face south.
2. Install the anti-theft security box: place the battery and electric fence energiser inside the metal enclosure, then secure the box to the ground using the supplied anchor.
3. Set the correct solar panel angle: attach the panel to the mounting bracket using the prepared mounting holes. Position it at an angle of approximately 35–40° to maximise exposure to sunlight.
4. Connect the charge controller: connect the solar panel to the controller while observing the correct positive and negative polarity. Then connect the battery and the electric fence energiser according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Connect the metal box to the energiser: the enclosure can be incorporated into the electric fence circuit to provide additional anti-theft protection.
6. Test the complete system: once all components are connected, check that the battery is charging correctly and that the electric fence energiser is operating properly.
7. Carry out regular inspections: periodically check the solar panel for dust, dirt and debris, as contamination can reduce charging performance. Clean the panel with water and a soft sponge.
