Thanks to the use of gauze, the blade of the knife warms up to a temperature of 400 ° .C. Using a knife at such a temperature, gently tans the incision site, reducing the risk of infection.
The tail cutter consists of a clamping mechanism (entirely made of stainless steel), a gas tank and a metal hardened blade that heats up with a flame. Oster is interchangeable and recommended to be replaced approximately every 50,000 treatments. The gas tank is regenerated and can be powered in the same way as a regular lighter. One full container is enough to cut about 140 petioles.
According to the recommendations of veterinarians, petioles in piglets are recommended to be cut as soon as possible after giving birth. Maximum on the 4th day after birth. The tail cutter is sold complete with a can of gas (capacity 80ml) for refilling the tank in the cutter.
