How to prepare poultry for mechanical plucking

For effective feather removal, the carcass should be properly prepared before being placed inside the plucker. Correct bleeding and scalding are important for processing quality, hygiene and efficient feather removal.

After bleeding, immerse the carcass in warm water so that the feathers become thoroughly wet. It should then be scalded at approximately 75°C while being moved regularly through the water to distribute heat evenly and reach the base of the feathers.

To check whether the carcass is ready for plucking, gently pull several feathers. If they come out easily, the bird can be placed inside the automatic chicken plucking machine.
