ECO Electric Fence Kit for Marten Protection Under Gutters
Description
This ECO electric fence kit for martens is designed to protect residential and agricultural buildings against roof damage caused by martens. The complete set contains all essential components required to secure a building with a perimeter of up to 50 m and up to 4 downpipes. An electric marten deterrent system creates an effective barrier that helps prevent animals from reaching the roof structure, soffits and attic areas.
How to Protect Your Roof from Martens
Martens can cause serious damage to roof insulation, wiring and structural elements. As nocturnal animals, they may also disturb residents with noise during the night. They often climb walls and downpipes to reach the roof, which is why the most effective protection is to create a continuous electric barrier that blocks access to the soffit and gutter area.
The electric fence for martens is installed below the gutter, usually along a wooden fascia board or sheet-metal-covered roof edge. Downpipes are protected with special mounting clamps. The complete system should form a closed circuit, reducing the risk of the marten finding an unprotected access point.
ECO Marten Electric Fence Kit Contents
- VOLTAGO Twin-Home 1000 electric fence energiser – 1 pc.
- Galvanised steel wire, 1.2 mm – 100 m.
- Downpipe mounting clamps – 4 pcs.
- IRUVIS/25 electric fence insulators with wood screws – 40 pcs.
- Wire connectors – 6 pcs.
- Insulated connection cable – 5 m.
How to Install an Electric Fence for Martens
To install the marten protection electric fence correctly, first position the insulators along the fascia board below the gutter at intervals of approximately 1.5 m. Then fit the supplied clamps with insulators around the downpipes.
The energiser should be installed indoors or outside in a suitable weatherproof enclosure. Connect one insulated cable to the positive terminal (+) and the other to the negative terminal (−). Join the steel wires to the connection cables using suitable clip connectors.
Run the two wires parallel to each other. On each downpipe clamp, one wire should pass through the guide while the second runs along the support pin. Along the fascia board, secure the wires in the insulators so they remain properly positioned and form a continuous protective circuit around the building.
The offered ECO electric marten deterrent kit can be extended with additional wire, insulators and downpipe clamps to protect larger buildings.
