Proximity sensor for use in automatic feeding systems. The capacitive sensor is mounted in the end pan and the principle of its operation is simple. The sensor reacts when loose materials, e.g. feed, liquid or solids, are brought close to the front of the pan. When the sensor detects feed, it disconnects the feed flow, and when there is no feed, it reconnects the flow with an appropriate delay. The delay in the sensor to the feeder of this model is 60 seconds.
