The bottom cover is a component of the maxident of the Maxiflo model 6003 and 6012, which regulates the constant water pressure level in poultry watering systems.

The bottom cover of the Maxiflo 6003 reducer is usually replaced as a result of failure or unfortunate damage during everyday operation of the device. It is a very important element of the construction of the reducer, because it is a combination of a diaphragm with a spring, thanks to which it is possible to maintain a constant pressure of flowing water.
A spring is applied to the external thread visible in the picture 3/4 of the cover, and then a nut is screwed, which works on the principle of a potentiometer - it allows you to adjust the water pressure.
