Ballast Base Plate for Concrete Blocks | Mobile Vehicle Disinfection Gate
Description
The ballast base plate for concrete blocks used with a mobile vehicle disinfection gate is a specially designed structural component manufactured from galvanised steel sheet. It allows the disinfection gate to be installed securely without drilling, concreting or permanently anchoring the structure to the ground.
Each mobile disinfection gate is supported by two ballast plates and additional braces, which together provide full structural stability. The set includes 2 ballast base plates and 4 stabilising braces, all manufactured from galvanised steel. Concrete foundation blocks used as ballast are not included.
Applications of the Concrete Block Ballast Base Plate
The offered concrete block ballast plate is an optional accessory for a mobile vehicle disinfection gate with a galvanised steel structure. Each plate is designed to hold standard concrete foundation blocks that act as ballast weights.
The integrated braces connect the plates to both sides of the biosecurity gate, helping stabilise the complete structure. To secure the gate without permanent ground anchors, use approximately 10–12 standard concrete blocks weighing around 25 kg each per ballast plate. This provides a total ballast weight of approximately 500–600 kg, depending on the blocks used.
The blocks, which are not included in the set, should be positioned evenly across both plates to distribute the load and provide stable support without damaging or modifying the ground surface.
Benefits of Using Ballast Plates
- No need to drill, concrete or permanently anchor the gate to the ground.
- Practical solution during disease outbreaks and urgent biosecurity threats, including avian influenza, African swine fever, Newcastle disease and foot-and-mouth disease.
- Fast installation and removal of the disinfection gate.
- Allows the gate to be moved easily to another location on the farm.
- Provides stable support through a concrete block ballast system.
- Durable and resistant to demanding outdoor conditions.
Why Choose a Mobile Vehicle Disinfection Gate?
A mobile vehicle disinfection gate is used to improve biosecurity on poultry farms, pig farms, cattle farms, livestock facilities and food production sites. It helps reduce the risk of infectious diseases such as African swine fever, avian influenza and foot-and-mouth disease being introduced or spread by vehicles.
When fitted with galvanised ballast plates, the gate can be installed quickly on hardened surfaces such as paving stones, concrete yards or asphalt roads without constructing a permanent foundation. This makes the system suitable for livestock collection centres, slaughterhouses, dairies, egg packing plants, food-processing facilities and temporary disease-control checkpoints.
Galvanised Ballast Plate for Vehicle Disinfection Gates
The galvanised ballast plate for mobile disinfection gates has been designed to provide secure and durable support without permanent anchoring. The set includes two plates measuring 160 × 40 cm, manufactured from 3 mm thick galvanised steel sheet.
A raised edge along one of the longer sides helps prevent the concrete blocks from sliding off the plate. The plates also feature mounting holes that can be used for optional anchoring when required. Special stabilising braces, bolts and nuts are included to connect the ballast plates securely to the gate structure.
